Andrews Institute Is A Community Gem

As a Florida and Pensacola native, I have enjoyed many years of participating in sports in the area. However, shoulder overuse on the tennis court dictated that I have surgery, which was performed by Dr. Ostrander in Gulf Breeze.

Because I had a wonderful surgeon and because of the rehabilitation treatment I received at First Rehab and now the Andrews Institute, I am back on the court much earlier than expected. Gulf Breeze and Pensacola have a gem in the Andrews Institute.

I shared space with professional athletes while there, and yet I was treated with the same attention. This facility is for weekend warriors and “real” athletes alike.

The superiority of their best-of-the-best equipment is only matched by their staff.

Their patience and understanding, coupled with gentle insistence on regaining strength and mobility, has been phenomenal, and I am quickly back to playing the sport I love.

Dr. O'Grady a Welcome Addition to Gulf Breeze

On March 29th and April 3rd, I had both my knees replaced by Dr. O’Grady, an orthopaedic surgeon at the Naval Hospital. To say the operations were a success is a true understatement. Dr. O’Grady is an outstanding orthopaedic surgeon who had me out of pain and walking correctly for the first time in 10 years.

Dr. O’Grady will leave the Navy in September and commence a new career as an orthopaedic surgeon at the Andrews Institute. All I can say is: The Navy’s loss is the civilian world’s gain.

He and his lovely family will be a welcome addition to the city of Gulf Breeze.

The Andrews Institute is the most impressive medical facility I've ever seen. Everyone we came into contact with was courteous, friendly, prompt, and professional. I want to mention a young lady named Candace who initially contacted us and with whom we spoke to on the phone several times. She was so helpful with her instructions and her friendly and professional manner really put me at ease. I was very anxious because we were traveling over 500 miles and we were not sure if my son would require surgery or not. Candace helped relieve much of that stress we were feeling.

Once we arrived, everything was precisely organized and everyone was so unbelievably nice. We were amazed at how much time Dr. Hackel and Dr. Andrews spent with us before and after surgery. And then they both called my son after we got home to Tennessee to check on him and see if he had any questions. Both told him to call if he had any questions in the future.

Everything and everyone was so efficient and at the same time so caring and willing to give their time. Words cannot adequately express how impressed my son and I were with the entire experience. The Andrews Institute is a truly wonderful facility. Thank you so much.

I would definitely recommend Andrews Institute, Dr. Ostrander and the service I received at the desk and in therapy.  This was the first time I ever was called at home to see how I was doing the day after surgery by the Operating Room nurse, and the second call the same evening from the doctor. I'm glad my daughter insisted I go to Dr. Ostrander. He is the BEST!!

Dr. Christopher O'Grady performed my total hip replacement on January 31st, 2005. The procedure went smoothly and without complication. My recovery progressed faster than ever anticipated. To have eliminated on going pain associated with degeneration and have my active lifestyle restored is truly wonderful! During the past three years, my new hip has been put to the test!!!

I feel very fortunate to have had such an outstanding physician as Dr. O'Grady perform my surgery. He is not only very meticulous in his work but a wonderful person as well. Having experienced the implantation of a prosthesis, can appreciate the importance of each. I am beginning to experience problems with my other hip and can only hope I will have the same quality of care when the time comes to seek medical attention for it.

Your staff and radiology staff goes beyond with friendliness and service.  Everyone is great!  Dr. Hackle is especially wonderful, patient and the kindest bedside manner. He should teach a class in it for other doctors!  Dr. Andrews was very professional and made you feel very confident about his knowledge and expertise. It is a very satisfying experience.

Dr. O'Grady will take the time to do what is required in surgery. He did two hip replacement procedures on my left hip during surgery, to insure that my surgery would be successful.

He was very kind and considerate to me and my husband prior to surgery and after surgery.

I am now pain free and my surgery was a complete success! I would recommend Dr. O'Grady to anyone for hip replacement surgery or similar surgeries.

To Whom It May Concern:

It can be tough getting old. First there was a scary diagnosis of prostate cancer in 2002 which I have overcome, then followed by a series of new aches and pains in my hips, shoulders, and knees... all of which I went to various doctors in Milton and Pensacola to see about. My main concern was that whenever I did anything for a half hour or more... sit, stand or even lay down... I tended to cramp up and experienced moderate to severe shooting pains between my ankles and hips. [...] It began to affect my entire lifestyle and all of my activities in a negative way.

[...] My daughter Mary, a Baptist Hospital employee, told me about the Andrews Clinic in Gulf Breeze and after a short discussion, she set me up with an appointment to see Dr. Hackel. It was a pleasant experience all around... beautiful surroundings, an easy going, competent, friendly, helpful staff and a total positive outlook for success without radical surgery.

[...] I have learned that I can still do anything I used to do, but now I must do them in common sense moderation.
