In November 2007, Dr. O'Grady was in the first group of physicians in the country to earn the Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.

Christopher O’Grady, M.D. is the current Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of the Baptist Health Care System. He is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon who treats musculoskeletal conditions resulting from injury, overuse and arthritis. He has a special interest in arthroscopy and has served as an instructor in arthroscopic surgery at multiple national orthopaedic conferences.

Dr. O’Grady earned his undergraduate degree in physics at Georgetown University, and then continued his studies in Washington, D.C. when he earned a seat at the Georgetown University School of Medicine.

After receiving his Doctor of Medicine in 1997, Dr. O’Grady went on to complete his orthopaedic
training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Long Island, NY. He completed his internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. After completing his residency, the United States Navy assigned Dr. O’Grady to the Pensacola Naval Hospital where he proudly served as an active duty orthopaedic surgeon for four years.

In 2001, Dr. O’Grady received the American Orthopaedic Association’s Zimmer Resident Travel Award for Orthopaedic Research, and secured a grant from the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation.

Dr. O’Grady has been an associate master instructor at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Chicago for courses on shoulder instability and on preservation of cartilage in the knee. He has also been an instructor for the Arthoscopy Association of North America (AANA) at many of their meetings focusing on the latest surgical techniques.

Dr. O'Grady shares Dr. Andrews passion for the prevention of injuries in youth sports. He has been the team physician for the Foley, AL Lions since 2007. He also thoroughly enjoys coaching his own three children in various sports.

Dr. O’Grady has been involved with Andrews Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center and the Andrews Institute from the ground-level, and is currently seeing patients at the new Gulf Breeze facility.
